2023 RECIPIENTS
STOKE ROW AND NUFFIELD MOTORSPORT DAY 2023
The first Stoke Row Racing Car Show was held in 2009. It came about after a conversation between Iain Rowley of Delta Motor Sport and the members of the Stoke Row Racing Club when it was decided to organise a village event at Vanalloys Business Park with a motorsport theme to allow the public to display and see the collectable cars from the area around Stoke Row. A further objective was to raise money for charity. Money raised at that first show was used to produce a neonatal dialysis machine which had been designed by one of the tenants on the site. These machines have now saved the lives of many babies who were too small to receive conventional dialysis.
Since then the event has grown every year, except for 2 years during the Covid era, and significant proceeds have been collected and donated to various local and national charities. The event out-grew the site in Stoke Row and in 2014 moved to a new more spacious venue in Nuffield, just 2 miles from the old site. An important part of the event is the Maharajah’s Tour which is held during the morning and arranged by the Craven Motor Club. This is an interesting road route, normally about 70 miles long, around the area. It is open to any vehicle and normally attracts over 60 participants.
The 14th-anniversary event in Nuffield was held in mild conditions after a wet morning on 27 July 2023 and attracted hundreds of visitors and a display of well over 150 classic and collectable racing and road cars. For once we did not have to contend with an elevated fire risk.
The organisers are extremely thankful for the ongoing support of the event by numerous sponsors, providers of many services and the generous public.
We look forward to the event continuing to provide a great day’s entertainment for the local residents as well as raising money for local charities which perform such valuable services for many people. The next Motorsport Day and Maharajah’s Tour is scheduled for 7 July 2024 at the same venue in Nuffield.
A total of £3000.00 will be donated to the following charities this year:

Friends of Nuffield Church
Nuffield PCC Community Centre
Stoke Row C.E. Primary School
Ways and Means Trust
Thames Valley Air Ambulance
Stoke Row Sports and Leisure Club
-
Nuffield Church is the only church in Nuffield and requires money for ongoing maintenance and to cover operating costs.

-
The Nuffield PCC Community Centre is raising money to convert the seating space in the middle of the village church to an open area for public use with stacking chairs that can be put to one side or put back again for the church services. There is also a requirement for toilet facilities. As Nuffield has lost its school, post office and pub over the years it is important to make full use of the potential of the church.

-
Stoke Row C.E. Primary School provides education for young scholars in a safe, congenial and friendly village atmosphere.

-
Ways and Means Trust provides rehabilitation and training for adults with recurring mental ill health or with a learning disability. They operate on 4 sites in the surrounding area.

-
The Thames Valley Air Ambulance is at the frontline of saving lives. The team gives you the best chance when the worst happens.

-
The Stoke Row Sports and Leisure Club provides a sports and social club facility for local residents.
